Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
